It has been a while that I made a flight report.
Yesterdays flight from Sydney to Perth however deserves a mention.
Not because the on- time performance. It was not.
Not because of the impeccable in flight service. It was typical Qantas domestic economy. Not enough to feel sated, but taste ok. Though the ice cream was nice.
Not because of the entertainment, because there was non. WiFi not working. On an aircraft only a few weeks old? Hmmmmm.
It is worth mentioning though that row 17, just behind the emergency rows had a seat space which was reminiscent of an Asian Airline. Space where your legs were not pushed against the front seat and the seat itself was comfortable.
Otherwise?
It reminded me of the long distance flights in the narrow tubes of Boeing 707 or Douglas DC8 back in the 70’s.
Including the lack of toilets. Only three for nearly 200 pax.
Dismal.
Imagine the aircraft is on medium-long haul. Overnight and everyone needs a pee in the morning.
Plus the aisle is narrow and the crew tries to serve breakfast from the rear galley while throngs of people cue up.
Horror visions.
But at least two final good points. The overhead bins are really roomy and the crew 60% smily and typical Aussie.
In summary. For the 4.5 hours I enjoyed it except the toilet squeeze at the end.
